DIY Coconut Sugar Scrub

At the moment for me, it’s all about natural skincare and with Christmas rapidly approaching I will share with you over the next few weeks some DIY skincare recipes you can make at home for yourself, friends and family.

All of the recipes are eco-friendly, kind to your skin and are inexpensive to make.  In this blog, I am sharing a recipe for a fabulous sugar scrub which I hope you will love as much as my family and I do!

DIY Coconut Sugar Scrub

If you are looking for an all-natural, skin softening exfoliating scrub you can make at home, look no further. The recipe below will leave your skin feeling soft, moisturised and will help to remove any dead skin cells from the surface. This sugar scrub is also a huge time saver as there is no need to moisturise after your bath or shower.  *Please note that the oils can make you shower/bath slippery so please be careful.

You can buy the ingredients cheaply from your local food shop (I get mine from Aldi), it’s super quick to make and it makes a fabulous home-made gift.

Coconut Oil – 8 Oz
Granulated sugar4 Oz

Mixing Bowl

Jam Jar (or other suitable container)

Garden twine or ribbon (optional decoration to tie around the jar if gifting)

Add the coconut oil and the sugar into a bowl and mix together.  Once well mixed, spoon into a jar or container of your choice and store in a cool place. Finally, enjoy some pamper time and your silky soft skin!

Tip: If you are looking to gift the scrub, mini clip top jars are lovely and perfect for putting in a hamper. Wrap twine or ribbon around the neck of the jar to decorate along with a label with the contents.
